New release - Guise is revealed!

Greetings metal connoisseurs..

Once again this year I have the pleasure of announcing a new release, this time in the form of Meister's debut EP - Guise!

Newcomers to our collective, Meister are an industrial metal three-piece hailing from the North of England. They have a knack of combining cold electronics with massive riffs in a distinctly metal way, highly recommended for fans of Samael, The Kovenant, Ministry or Nine Inch Nails, or for anyone who likes huge synth arrangements and deep vocals in their metal.

New artist: Meister

Its not every day that I have the pleasure of announcing a new band, but today is one of those days!

Meister is an Industrial metal band from York, England. Expect uncompromisingly heavy riffs, baritone vocals, lyrics like the darkest gothic poetry you could ever hope to stumble across, all over a backdrop of synth orchestras and cold mechanical beats. Did we mention a member of Miseria Visage is involved?!

There is no doubt that Meister marks a departure for Three Rooks, our first foot in the door with electronic music, yet at the same time there are undeniably strong metal elements to their sound.

So what comes next? Meister are just about to start recording their first EP, which we will be bringing to your ears as soon as its hot from the studio! After that, its time to go on the hunt for live- perfomance opportunities, likely kicking off with club shows in their native UK, naturally we will keep you updated with all things Meister-related from now on!

 

Three Rooks are flying the nest..

Signs are that our long hibernation could be coming to an end. We are now committed to making 2016 the year that we once again have the chance to sort things out and get back to doing what we do best - bringing new dark and heavy music to your ears. 

Our new mission is to broaden the scope of our collective with new projects and new genres, spreading our wings into Industrial, Gothic and Dark Electronic territory. 

Its also been too long since we've taken on some serious studio projects. The audio production arm of Three Rooks is back, currently working hard to produce music with a fantastic new band that we will unveil soon, of course it will come as no surprise that an ex. member of Miseria Visage is involved.

However, we also want to open up the studio to other bands and projects too! It is through collaboration and combining resources as well as talent, that underground artists can best flourish and prove their artistic worth.

Koboloris back in the studio!

Good news - Koboloris has returned to the studio and is working on some new material.

Any signs of this duo going in a more mellow direction have been utterly trashed! Koboloris is going back to doing what it does best - loud, uncompromising black metal, tinged with death influences and infernal melodies that will get stuck in your head and keep those horns in the air.

Dark developments - what our artists are up to ..

The creator of Mourning Hours has been busy with a new 2-man project, this time melodic black metal with a touch of folk influences known as 'Monarchy of Death', certainly worth checking out their facebook page. I'm looking forward to hearing the vocal versions of their demo tracks. They have promised a set of demo songs will be ready by the end of the winter!

Bolverk of Bergelmir is currently working on recording songs for the upcoming EP 'Infernal Solitude', with the current focus being a song entitled 'Caught up in a world of black despair', scheduled for around the end of the month, this EP is one not to miss for all fans of dark, cold, atmospheric sounds.





Morodh are getting ready to release their split EP 'Lost in Life', the exact date of the release will soon be announced, don't forget this will be available in both digital format (from us) and in tape form from Russian label 'Dark East Productions'!

We are proud to announce our new release plans for late Autumn 2012!

Morodh's release will be a split EP with another excellent depressive black metal project, also from Russia - People Are Mechanisms. We are very pleased to be able to work with both artists and bring you what promises to be a well-crafted piece of  musical dark art.

The first thing that struck us when listening to this project, was the quality of composition and depth of feeling in this dark yet powerful music. Everything is stripped-back and honest, with organic production that allows the true tone of the instruments to breathe without being abrasive.

People Are Mechanisms is the creation of Lesnik Stasik, a musician from Ryazan, Russia, whom you can also find here on facebook.

We recommend you take the chance to hear more music from People Are Mechanisms on the project's myspace page or soundcloud.

Plans of conquest.. from September to winter!

Although we have stopped looking over new demo's until December, this does not mean we have no new developments to reveal. In fact, the rest of 2012 will be very busy for us, there will certainly be releases and possible some new bands/projects to announce.

One of our biggest releases will be a Morodh split EP with another artist (who we will talk more about soon), this winter! Morodh are in the studio and we are impressed with the work-in-progress tracks we have heard so far.

Also there are a few potential artists we are keeping an eye on, whom we may decide to do debut releases for between now and December, so keep with us if you are thirsty for new dark and heavy music.

Before the year is over, we also aim to have a website up and running, making music from our artists more accessible than ever, plus room for us expand our operation with an online store for music and merch!
Our first physical releases will not be until well into 2013, but eventually you can expect us to release on limited quantities of cassette tape or CD (10-50 copies).

New artist announcement - Morodh!

We are proud to introduce Morodh, from Vladimir, Russia, a new addition to Three Rooks, whom we look forward to working with on future releases!

 

Formed in May 2011, Morodh are a three-piece band who tackle dark subject matters with excellent musicianship and depth of emotion in their music. Stylistically, Morodh can be described as 'Depressive Black', their sound can shift effortlessly from subtle dark atmospheres to the heavy riffs and strongly constructed rhythms that are a Black Metal tradition.

Lineup:

 Ragnaar - guitars,   Astaroth - vocal,   Andreas - drums.

Morodh are currently in the studio, finishing their songs that will feature on a split EP later this year, we will reveal more details soon. You can keep up with their progress on their facebook page, or Ragnaar's blog!

New Artist Announcement!

It is time to announce a new artist on Three Rooks Records! We are proud to welcome Mourning Hours to our roster, an excellent DSBM / Doom project hailing from Dhaka BD, with a demo single "Us & Despair" available for your listening pleasure..

We look forward to supporting the future releases of Mourning Hours and recommend checking out the project's facebook page and youtube channel, where plenty of new tracks are available to hear!

August is going to be an eventful time for Three Rooks Records..

With only seven days until Koboloris unleash their first EP, the band are already thinking about their future activities, including contributing to a split EP planned for later in the year. 

We also welcome to our label, a new artist whom we will announce very soon!

In addition to this, our official website is currently in the middle of it's design process and progress is good. Soon, we will have a fully fledged web presence complete with an online shop and individual pages dedicated to our artists, streaming the latest music and videos.

For us, it's time to stay focused and also look forward to reading some hopefully interesting reviews of the Koboloris EP, we hope you enjoy it too!

News from the studio & Free track!!

It's done! We have finally finished the recording and production of the Koboloris debut EP, just in time to do some promotion before the release date of August 31st. In our last session we finished off the very last track on the EP, nailing some intricate bass parts and utterly dark vocals on what is the fastest and most heavy sounding of all the songs.

To celebrate the completion of what has been our focus since March this year, we are giving you the gift of our very first track, click this link to get the free song "Lupinotuum"! On Tuesday, we (Koboloris) spent the afternoon working on some of the final production tasks before the debut EP is completed, this particular afternoon we had the small matter of goblin-vocals to attend to..

After suffering a computer virus attack, it looked like we would be up against the clock to finish the EP production, however we managed to pull the main mixing computer back from the blink of near oblivion, so only a day of mixing time was lost.

Only a couple more sessions to go and we will be all finished with production and ready to unleash the Koboloris debut EP. In the mean time, here are a couple of snaps of things in our workspace ..



4X10 cab, mainly used for resting things on, also comes in handy for recording bass out of. 

The vocal condenser mic, very handy for capturing the soul-wrenching screams of forest goblins.

Latest developments (Koboloris).

We have now switched the video side of things over to Vimeo, so the new videos for Malign Inspiration and Lupinotuum are now viewable in much better quality!

August 31st is looking likely as the date for the release of Koboloris's debut EP, featuring four tracks and to made available as a download with artwork, possibly in other formats such as CD/Tape later on.

Our production side of the operation at Three Rooks Production will be finishing up the EP soon, with two of the four tracks already mixed and mastered, the final tracks will follow shortly. We are also looking at the option of shooting a full-on music video to accompany one of the tracks from the debut release. August should be an eventful month!

Koboloris- New video & progress report!

Final mixing is almost complete on the first half of the Koboloris debut EP, scheduled for release in August. Only one more track of bass guitar and two songs worth of vocals need recording to complete the last two tracks on the EP, including a seven minute long epic entitled "Woods of Kobolorum", a song that explores the themes behind the project's name.

In the mean time, check out "Malign Inspiration" in video form, including full lyrics and with audio that is the final EP mix!

New Koboloris interview & FREE song download!

Our very own Koboloris have given an interview with genre-eclectic music blog Rising Sun Freestyle.
These guys tackle everything from Japanese rap to Metal, so we are proud that Koboloris have been given the chance to represent their genre on here.

Add to that, a bunch of interview questions nothing short of epic in scope, we are talking everything from philosophy, to post apocalyptic scenario's, to musical influences here, basically just go and read it.

Koboloris EP studio progress report!

So, it looks like August will be the likely month of release for Koboloris's debut EP!

Although currently unnamed, the writing and recording of the two-man project's first work is going well. The main rhythm guitar tracks for all four songs have been recorded, leaving only some lead guitar parts left to finish, expect rich lead harmonies, but of course no solos! The majority of percussion and bass guitar has also been recorded, leaving only the final track to finish. Vocal duties are now the main element left for the duo's second member to tackle, with so far only vocals for "Malign Inspiration" having been recorded, some work on the lyrics is being undertaken first.

More details will arrive as we know them.

New song / video from Koboloris!

Writing and recording for the Koboloris debut EP is progressing nicely, however, while you wait, there are a few hidden gems we would like the share with you. The first of these is a raw bootleg track in the form of a song called "Lupinotuum", the very first song ever composed by the band back in May of this year. You won't find this on their upcoming EP!

We now also have a Vimeo Channel, and will be using this the share tracks from our bands, studio footage and maybe even full music videos, so it made perfect sense to share the first of Koboloris's bootleg tracks this way too.. please enjoy the song and subscribe to stay in the loop!

Obscure schemes of conquest..

Good news! If you enjoyed Koboloris's debut track, there is more music on the way, sooner than expected. You won't have to wait until the main demo EP release date to hear some new material as they will be making public a couple of one-off bootleg recordings very soon. This is some of the very first music ever written by the band, but remixed and remastered.
